BLACKMAGIC ATEM SDI Pro ISO
This model includes all the features of the ATEM SDI version and also allows you to record and transmit up to five real-time signals in order to obtain clean images from all sources and edit them. In addition, a project file of DaVinci Resolve is created that provides the possibility of editing the production, for example, to re-mix the audio or to eolate the recorded material.
Live productions with advanced features in super portable design
The ATEM SDI line mixers have been designed to provide maximum portability. They are very similar to the ATEM Mini model, but include SDI 3G connections and double outputs. The ATEM SDI and ATEM SDI Pro ISO versions have four SDI inputs, while the ATEM SDI Extreme ISO model has eight. All of them offer the possibility of resincronizing sources and converting formats. In addition, these mixers allow to create effects with overlapping images. The USB port facilitates your connection to computer equipment, and the Pro and Extreme models are able to transmit signals directly on the Internet. For its part, among the Fairlight audio tools, stands out the parametric equalizer of six bands with compressor and limiter for each entry.
New generation of super portable devices
ATEM SDI models present the same compact design of the ATEM Mini version, but their SDI connections provide the opportunity to connect professional cameras and recorders. This offers an unprecedented portability when making live productions, as it is possible to have an extraordinary transmission system that fits in a small bag or even in a backpack. This facilitates the use of several outdoor cameras to broadcast live on YouTube or the connection to studies using the ATEM Streaming Bridge device. When recording with multiple cameras, different interesting angles are achieved when distance interviews are performed.
Independent mixer with professional quality
ATEM SDI mixers offer a control panel and different connections in a compact size. The front of these devices includes buttons to alternate between sources and choose different effects and transitions. These are intuitive and allow the presenter to perform these tasks. In addition, it is possible to mix the audio. The ATEM SDI Pro and Extreme models have controls to record and transmit on the Internet, as well as buttons to select outputs that allow you to switch between the different cameras, the program signal or the multiple display function. In the back, they have HDMI connections for cameras, additional microphone inputs, a USB port to recognize the mixer as a web camera and several auxiliary SDI outputs for the main signal.
Usageability
ATEM SDI models are very simple to use. Just press any of the numbered buttons on the front panel to switch between the sources. In turn, you can choose different types of cuts and transitions using the CUT or AUTO buttons. Unlike the former, the latter allows to change from one plane to another according to the selected transition, for example, a solvent, a cast to a particular color or other effects of greater dramatism. Simultaneous images can also be used in different positions and with different funds. In turn, multimedia players facilitate the storage of titles and graphics, which is accessed through an external control program.
USB port for software
To ensure the widest compatibility, the USB port of the ATEM SDI models allows the devices to be detected as a web camera by connecting them to a computer equipment, which provides the possibility of broadcasting live through any program intended for that purpose. This facilitates the transmission of images in HD 1080 resolution, through platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype, to perform presentations with a professional style using several cameras. The USB port of these mixers is also compatible with Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster and other similar programs.
Live streaming via Ethernet networks
The ATEM SDI Pro and ATEM SDI Extreme models include an Ethernet connection that allows you to live via YouTube, Facebook and Twitch with better quality, without omitting frames and using a much simpler configuration. Simply select the transmission service and enter the key to start the issue. For its part, the ATEM Software Control program has panels to configure the transmission, and its status appears in the windows of the simultaneous display. This is very easy to interpret, given that the data frequency indicator shows the Internet speed required for the selected format. It is also possible to modify the detailed transmission profiles in the XML file of preferences and load additional services.
4G or 5G telephone connection
When performing live productions from outdoors, the ATEM SDI Pro and Extreme models allow you to connect Apple or Android phones to the USB port to use mobile data or as backup of the main Ethernet connection. The network anchor works with 5G high-speed or 4G mobiles. By connecting them to the mixer, it automatically detects them and starts using that connection to access the Internet, without changing settings. In turn, the phone is loaded through the USB port, which eliminates the possibility of the battery being exhausted. This provides great portability to carry out all types of mobile productions.
Direct recording on USB drives
The ATEM SDI Pro and Extreme models also offer the possibility of directly recording H.264 long-lasting files with ACC audio on USB flash drives to later upload them to sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. They also allow to use several storage supports using a USB adapter or a Blackmagic MultiDock computer. When one is filled, the recording continues automatically on the next. Recording settings and choice of drives are configured in the ATEM Software Control program. In turn, the recording status is indicated in the simultaneous display mode.
Edit live productions with isolated recordings
The ATEM SDI Pro ISO and Extreme ISO models facilitate the editing of live broadcast events, as they offer the opportunity to simultaneously record the program and the sources connected to the device. The multimedia panel content used in production is also saved along with recordings in files that include metadata such as time code and camera number. This provides the possibility of making new chromatic adjustments or adding effects and graphics. It should be noted that audio sources are also engraved, which allows a professional mix.
Edition of live productions with DaVinci Resolve
ISO models allow you to create a DaVinci Resolve project file to edit production with a single click. This includes all the cuts, solvents and graphics used during it. In this way, it is possible to adjust the duration of the shots or replace them completely. For its part, the DaVinci Resolve synchronization tray provides the opportunity to edit planes using a simultaneous visualization interface. ISO files are automatically organized according to the time code, so that all angles are perfectly synchronized.

One of the advantages offered by the ATEM SDI model is the possibility of creating a professional production with a wide variety of effects. The CUT button allows a direct cut between the sources, while the AUTO button is used to move from one plane to another through transitions of different duration and with different styles, such as solvents or cast into a specific color. In addition, it is possible to use digital effects that move the image by changing from one source to another.
Professional microphones
The two 3.5 mm stereo inputs allow you to connect flap or desktop microphones as well as music players to generate an introductory melody before the program begins. During an interview, the two additional audio inputs make it possible for both the presenter and the person interviewed to have overlap microphones. The ATEM SDI version includes buttons on the front panel to adjust the volume of the fonts. In turn, all models have Fairlight tools and microphone inputs to create an exceptional sound mix from different audio sources. For its part, the ATEM SDI Extreme version also features a headphone output.
Automatic conversion of formats
Each of the SDI 3G inputs allows to convert the format of the signals. In this way, the mixer is able to process 720p, 1080p and 1080i sources. Although the device configures the format automatically, it is possible to change it at any time. SDI outputs also work as auxiliary outputs, which provides the opportunity to assign sources to any of them. In turn, all can be connected to cameras to control the drives and the pilot lights. In the case of ATEM SDI Pro and ATEM SDI Extreme models, such outputs can also be used for the simultaneous display function.

Includes free control program
The ATEM Software Control program provides access to all the functions of the mixer. Its interface features an elegant design with a virtual panel and tabs to make adjustments quickly. Although the connection is normally set by USB port, it is also possible to connect several computer equipment through an Ethernet network and run the program on each of them simultaneously. This application provides the opportunity to mix audio with effects, import captures, create macros and even save the device settings in an XML file, as well as control HyperDeck recorders to play clips.
Simultaneous images and transitions with digital effects
The ATEM SDI model includes a digital visual effects processor (DVE) that allows you to create professional effects with simultaneous images, parallel shadows and adaptable three-dimensional edges. It is possible to modify its size and position in real time, and quality is the same as the high-end ATEM versions. The multimedia panel provides the possibility of storing up to 20 RGBA images for use in titles, logos and opening sequences. For its part, the player is used for the purpose of visualizing the selected images, so it works as an additional internal source for graphics and titles. It is even possible to take advantage of captures to create complex effects, such as graphic cortinillas. In addition, the ATEM SDI model allows you to capture the images transmitted and add them to the multimedia panel. The graphics can be uploaded directly from the ATEM Software Control program or imported using the Photoshop plugin, which is ideal when they change often, as in the sports markers, for example, as they can be used directly in the player.
