The supply of the camera is made through an 8-pin and 24-V Lemon connection, while another 2-pin and 12-V additional is used in the rear for lower voltage accessories. Thanks to this, external wires are avoided.
In addition, there are two SDI 12G outputs, in order to monitor the images on two different monitors with different information on display, as well as a 10G Ethernet port that facilitates the synchronization of files with Blackmagic Cloud.
Screenshots in Blackmagic RAW
Blackmagic RAW is an innovative format designed to record all the information captured by the sensor and preserve quality.
In addition, it saves the camera metadata and the target, as well as the white balance, the digital clacket information and the custom conversion tables, with the purpose of ensuring the consistency of the images during the shoot on the set and postproduction.
The constant quality options keep the level of quality, allowing the degree of compression to be adapted to match the details of the scene.
On the other hand, constant speed modes offer the best possible image quality in files whose size is consistent. Blackmagic URSA Film engraves on the Blackmagic Media Module 8TB storage unit included, allowing filming up to 4 hours of Blackmagic RAW clips in 12K resolution or 20 hours in 4K.
Fifth generation colorimetry
Blackmagic's fifth-generation colorimetry includes a cinematic curve designed to use the maximum chromatic data information from the Blackmagic URSA Cine sensor.
This offers an improved chromatic response for more attractive skin tones and an optimized rendering of colors with high saturation, such as neon posters and rear car lights in contrasting scenes.
In addition, a complex processing of the images is performed in Blackmagic RAW format, keeping the metadata relating to the colour information and dynamic range captured by the sensor, in order to use them in the postproduction stage.
On the other hand, this new technology is compatible with previously filmed Blackmagic RAW files, so it is possible to take advantage of the advantages of the new film curve in previous works.
Integrated low-pass optical filters
The high frequencies of synthetic materials such as fabrics or LED matrices of the audiovisual surfaces can cause inconvenience when using modern, high-precision lenses and sensors with superior resolutions, and thus generate interference patterns.
Low-pass optical filters can minimize this effect and reduce the mure pattern and edge attenuation. The Blackmagic URSA Cine model features a professional low-pass optical filter that perfectly complements the sensor.
It also incorporates a modern infrared filter that improves the response to distant red wave frequencies, while preserving the color and details of the image when processing content in Blackmagic RAW format, which allows to reach new loyalty levels.
Integrated neutral density filters
Blackmagic URSA Cinema includes neutral density filters that reduce the amount of light that enters the camera.
These 2, 4 and 6-step filters have been specifically designed in combination with unit colorimetry, in order to provide additional latitude, even in adverse lighting conditions.
On the other hand, they filter the wavelengths of the visible spectrum and infrared uniformly in order to avoid contamination of the images by the infrared.
In addition, they have a precise mechanism that places them quickly in the right position when rotating the dial. In turn, the settings are indicated on the camera screen by a fraction, number or step reduction.
Full resolution at high image frequencies
Blackmagic URSA Cine is like several cameras in one, since it allows to film resolutions and usual image frequencies in 4K, 8K, Super 35 9K and even 12K, with an unprecedented level of detail, or to shoot at a frequency of up to 100 f/s in 12K (17:9, 12.288 x 6480) or 120 f/s in 12K (2.4:1).
For larger image frequencies, it is possible to use a resolution of 8192 x 5360 to a maximum of 144 f/s or 8192 x 3408 to 180 f/s, and even record in definition 8K 2.4:1 (8192 x 3408) to 224 f/s.
Options for image frequencies and resolutions of this model provide unparalleled flexibility in order to offer a better rendering of the material, with more defined edges in 8K and 4K, even lower frequencies.
In addition, it provides the opportunity to capture images of 100 megapixels per picture to 80 f/s in Blackmagic RAW format, so it is ideal to take perfect photographs and record moving objects.
High-performance internal storage
Blackmagic URSA Cine is the first digital cinematographic camera with high capacity and speed Cloud Store technology.
In this sense, Blackmagic Media Module offers a fast and reliable solution, with an 8-TB space, which is like having a Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini device integrated into the unit.
High-speed storage facilitates recording of resolutions and high-per-hour image frequencies, as well as access to files directly from a 10G Ethernet network.
Alternatively, it is possible to use units already available with the optional Blackmagic Media Module CF device, which includes two CF Express card slots.
