High ISO
Zenmuse X9 supports dual native ISO. The X9-8K records by default at IE 320/1600. With active dynamic range expansion, the X9-8K can admit IE 800/4000 that records images with exquisite details and minimal noise, even when filming urban landscapes or beaches at sunset, or a scene illuminated with the light of a candle.
Dynamic range 14.7 steps
With 14+ dynamic range steps, Zenmuse X9 produces natural transitions between illuminated and shaded areas in complex lighting conditions, such as scenes with background light or direct sunlight. These traditionally difficult scenes can be captured now easily and with confidence.
Color science
DJI Cinema Color Science (DCCS) is an integral system consisting of the CineCore image processing platform, the DCCS color engine, D-Gamut color space and D-Log curve. It is designed to free all the potential of the professional air and terrestrial imaging teams, and offers the content creators more space for creativity and vividly recreates the caleidosscopic colors that the human eye sees. In addition, the X9 supports the ACES workflow, standard in the industry, to offer easy compatibility with the color systems of other cinematographic cameras.
9-step integrated ND filters
The X9 features 9-step integrated ND filters (from ND 2 to ND 512, or from ND 0.3 to ND 2.7) that can be easily and quickly changed thanks to an internal motorized system. These filters were also designed to match the colour science of the 4D Ronin and complement it.
Fixed DL objectives
The standard DL mount of the X9 is compatible with a series of compact fixed lenses of full frame. The housings are made of light monocoal carbon fiber, so each lens weighs only 180 g.
DL lenses with zoom
In addition to the fixed objectives, the X9 is compatible with DL PZ 17-28 mm T3.0 ASPH, the first film lens with zoom DJI, which spans ultra wide angle focal distances to wide angle, with a minimum distance of approach of 0.19 m, which offer an ultra-high resolution of the center to the edges. The body of the target is made of magnesium and aluminum alloy, and only weighs about 520 g, so it is the perfect combination with the camera with X9 stabilizer both for its size and weight.
With an integrated zoom servomotor, the lens offers a fluid and reliable motorized zoom, without the need to mount external focus motors or calibrate the target. Nor is it necessary to rebalance the stabilizer after zooming. Its precise control of the backfocus and its native system calibration allow the automatic approach, manual approach and automated manual approach (AMF) to be more exceptionally accurate.
Interchangeable mounts
The X9 supports interchangeable lens mounts, including the patented DL mount DJI, as well as third-party mounts such as Leica L, Leica M, Sony E and ARRI PL (E mounting units and PL mounts are provided by third parties). The ultra-wide wide-angle, wide-open f/0.95, with motorized zoom, macro and anamorphic that are compatible with traditional film cameras also work on the X9, which offers flexible options regarding the objectives.
Wireless control
Both with manual and automatic focus objectives, the specific modules mounted on the X9 can achieve wireless control of the target and even automatic focus.
Active stabilisation in 4 axes at the level of a dolly
The DJI Ronin 4D incorporates a Z axis to the traditional three-axis stabilizer, which effectively reduces the vertical tremor of the camera and delivers stabilization performance to the pair of a dolly camera. The four axes work together with a lower ToF sensor, front and bottom dual vision sensors, an integrated IMU and barometer, and a new advanced algorithm, to bring all stabilization to a higher level.
When this compact structure is combined with its powerful stabilization capabilities, complex camera movements, which used to be very difficult to perform, can now be achieved easily.
Camera with integrated stabilizer
The Ronin 4D integrates the image and stabilization systems, and maintains only the necessary sensor and optical components in the chamber with stabilizer. The stabilizer tilt shaft uses dual symmetrical engines, while both the rotation axis and the rotation axis are designed with an additional rigidity damper.
With a highly integrated body and a robust driving force, the 4D Ronin offers the best stabilization and tracking performance of the entire Ronin series so far, with an incredibly lightweight weight. In addition, you can switch to Sport mode with just one button, allowing the stabilizer to react quickly to the motions of the filmmaker.
It also allows wireless control of the stabilizer and versatile assembly configurations for different recording scenarios.
ActiveTrack Pro
Computer vision recorded by DJI, the learning technology and the robust computing power of CineCore 3.0 are combined in ActiveTrack Pro, which allows to perform cinematographic tracking sequences, even in a single shot. This technology also allows you to follow the lenses from a long distance and has a composite setting with a continuous automatic focus, to keep the targets focused during follow-up.
LiDAR approach system
LiDAR waveform
DJI Ronin 4D makes focusing manually easier than ever. The visualized approach assistance technology displays the reference points on the main and remote monitors in a simplified top view. This provides an innovative and intuitive LiDAR waveform to quickly locate focus points and allow focus settings with extreme precision. Even operators with little or no experience can quickly become experts in manual approach.
Automatic approach
With the new LiDAR approach system, the 4D Ronin can keep the focus even when there is a lot of distortion because the goals move quickly. With the installed focus motor, the automatic approach is available even in manual targets. The continuous automatic focus of objectives can be activated in conjunction with ActiveTrack Pro, which is especially practical for autonomous operators.
Automated manual approach
The automated manual approach mode (AMF) offers you the precision and flexibility of the manual approach along with the comfort of the automatic approach. The focus wheel will turn into synchronization as the focus point changes, but camera operators can take manual control at any time. The focus wheel of the right grip even has dynamic damping with electromagnetic technology. This gives camera operators a physical perception of focus changes and offers them a more intuitive and modern approach experience, without rival in the industry today.
Wireless transmission system and control range up to 6 km
Video transmission performance
The Ronin 4D uses new video transmission technology DJI O3 Pro, which offers a transmission range of 6 km, unimaginable in traditional solutions. In addition to 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, it is compatible with the DFS frequency band and has a 256-bit AES encoding algorithm that generates an FHD signal output at 1080p/60 fps to multiple remote monitors simultaneously, with security, stability and significantly improved anti-interference capacity.
The chip DJI governs the image system, the video transmitter, the video receiver and the remote monitor of the 4D Ronin. Together, these components form an agile wireless transmission system, with all parts expressly optimized to provide ultra-low transmission late-to-end.
Integrated design
The 4D video transmitter can be installed directly on the 4D Ronin and feeds on the main body battery. With an integrated wireless video receiver, the high-glos remote monitor has a 7-inch touchscreen and 1500 nits and a wide range of colors, which can generate both HDMI and SDI signals through the expansion module. Its compact and lightweight body provides optimal portability and efficient configuration, so that users can start recording immediately.
Coordinated bearings
The high-gloss remote monitor supports a transmitter with multiple receivers for video and audio signals. There are two modes of transmission available. The first is the Emission mode, which has no limit on the number of receivers and is suitable for monitoring with teams of many people. The second is Control mode, which supports the coordinated operation of two receptors.
Reflected control mode
The mirrored control mode provides the high-gloss remote monitor with a control interface identical to that of the main monitor, which includes all advanced features such as the reproduction of the original material, the video specifications and the stabilizer settings, which can now be adjusted remotely even when the 4D Ronin is installed on expansion platforms, such as crane arms, cable cams or vehicle support.
