Full Frame Sensor size 8,6K

Sony BURANO has a large full frame image sensor of 36x24 mm offering high quality images and excellent reproduction with a wide latitude and a rich range of colors. Get a nice bokeh effect and a great dynamic angle that only one Full frame sensor can offer. Image quality 8K with a maximum resolution of 8632 x 4856 and, by far, can produce 4K content of spectacular appearance.

Like all Sony Cinema Line Full Frame cameras, BURANO will have the ability to shoot Super 35 Full Frame. In addition, inherits the function of decompression for anamorphic goals with up to 8K to 30 frames per second, 6K to 60 frames per second or 4K to 120 frames per second.

BURANO presents a compact and lightweight body to offer a large mobility, approximately 32 mm shorter and 1.4 kg lighter than the Camera VENICE 2. The camera stays in a robust magnesium chassis, I do. which allows filming in the most difficult environments. The box and the bags for cameras and accessories have been manufactured mainly with vegetable cellulose instead of plastic, as part of efforts Sony for being respectful of the environment. Besides, in the camera uses a cellulose cushion molded as buffer material, so it does not employ expanded polystyrene.

Optical Stabilization of the integrated image

Sony BURANO is the first digital cinema camera with PL mount compatible with image stabilization in the body. With a mechanism image stabilization and developed control algorithm recently using advanced stabilization technology image used in the AlphaTM series of mirrorless cameras interchangeable objectives, to correct undesired shocks of the camera, like the motion when recording without tripod or walking, during the shooting with an objective with mount in E or PL.

Neutral density filter variable to increase control and optimisation of the exhibition

Sony BURANO incorporates an electronic variable neutral density filter of 0.6 to 2,1, which can be easily adjusted to different environments lighting. In addition, this filter allows to control the depth of field with the iris and fits the optimal exposure without modifying the depth of field.

Objectives with mount in E for a greater variety

More than 70 E-mounted goals can take advantage of the excellent Image stabilization function developed with AlphaTM, thus as the fast hybrid automatic approach, which combines the advantages of phase and contrast detection methods. In addition, they are also compatible with the automatic recognition approach of subjects high precision using AI. The use of an E mounting target further reduces the weight and size of the camera.

Design improved body to provide greater ergonomics

BURANO also includes design improvements like all buttons of the menus are located on the side of the camera operator. Other compatible recording formats include XAVC and X-OCN LT. X-OCN is the original Sony compressed RAW format that can capture recorded information with 16-bit linear data, which offers more freedom to filmmakers in post-production Color gradation. X-OCN LT can reduce transfer time files and storage size load, which increases the effectiveness of postproduction workflows compared to standard versions of RAW data.

BURANO is also equipped with two new slots for cards CFexpress type B memory and is compatible with VPG400, which supports high-speed video data bit writing, including X-OCN LT 8K.

Ecosystem versatile and efficient production

BURANO supports several log recording modes, including S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut.Cine, which are color spaces that cover a chromatic range superior to BT.2020 and DCI-P3. BURANO can play the same colors that all Sony Cinema Line cameras, including VENICE 2. This allows the makers to combine the cameras of the same range. La. Camera also includes genlock.
