Sensor CMOS 4K Super 35 mm and global shutter

The heart of this system camera locks Sony's CMOS 4K Super 35 mm sensor. This large sensor offers new creative possibilities to direct production with the HDC camera series and achieves high sensitivity with an impressive signal-ruid ratio. It is complemented by the proven global shutter technology to capture accurate and stable 4K (UHD) images even with fast moving subjects, which is suitable for live and sport entertainment events that include LED screens and laser beams.

8-step motorized ND filter

The resilient chamber chassis integrates an 8-step neutral optic filter that offers a range of ND of 0.3 (1/2 = 1 step) to 2.4 (1/256 = 8 steps) in step increments of 0.3, allowing precise control of the amount of light entering the camera to improve the creative expression. ND filters can be controlled locally or remotely, offering a variety of workflows in live environments where there is rapid movement.

New slide mechanism of the viewer

The operation has been improved with a new and exclusive sliding mechanism of the viewer that minimizes the body movements of the camera operator during the spins. By approaching the viewer to the rotation axis of the tripod, the change of the viewing angle for the operator is reduced. This allows its use in narrow environments, such as on rail platforms, stadium platforms and scaffolding.

Three focus positions can be assigned to preset buttons, which allows you to find preset focus positions quickly and easily during live recording.

Ergonomic handle
It is easy to hold the grip even with gloves. And visibility through this area has improved. In addition, the ergonomic design grip allows stable camera handling. You can use the index to firmly hold this part of the camera.

Tally side lamp
The Tally LED lamp mounted on the side next to the camera number enhances the visibility of the Tally state.

Powerful control possibilities

- ARIA (Automatic Restoration of Illumination Attenuation, Automatic restoration of lighting attenuation)
F and peripheral light loss are undesirable physical phenomena that occur frequently when recording long-distance objects. With the newly developed ARIA function included in the HDC series cameras, the impact on the image aspect is automatically offset by the inside processing of the camera by using a compatible target.

- Web menu control of the camera
The optional HDCU-5500 camera control unit menu can be accessed remotely through an intuitive web browser-based interface, allowing integrated monitoring of optical levels and CCU status of various devices from a single PC. It also offers other useful features, such as the CCU file for preparation.

Internal recording option in the CCU

The addition of the HKCU-REC55 option to the HDCU-5500 camera control unit allows you to record 4K videos and audio directly on the CCU without any other external recording device. A video engineer can control the recording from the CCU, allowing the camera operator to focus on capturing the best images without distractions.
