4K Exmor® Super 35 sensor
Sony's Super 35 sensor offers "bokeh", a background blur that is achieved with a lower depth of field. A larger sensor also equals better sensitivity with low light and lower noise image. In addition, larger sensors also offer a field wider vision for goals of any focal distance.

The 14-step exposure latitude provides a powerful reproduction of the gray scale without the shade nuances being Look affected or the details of the high lights get lost.
The ISO 2000 sensitivity allows you to make perfect shots after the sunset without the need to use large levels of lighting and clamping.
4K Resolution: The sensor incorporates 11.6 million total pixels and 8.8 million effective pixels to deliver 4K resolution complete. Even if you're gonna create HD material, the recordings will capture the level of detail and the texture of images HD sensors can't appreciate.
Sony's CMOS Exmor® sensor design makes reading possible extremely fast, so it offers box frequencies up to 180 fps and reduces image distortion.

Montura ?
The FS7 E mount supports SLR cinema and lenses with a Third-party adapter, as well as target with Sony A and E mount.

High frame frequencies to 180 fps
FS7 offers continuous recording with a maximum of 180 frames per Second (fps) in Full HD. If your project is reproduced in cinematographs 24 fps, you'll get a pretty super-slow camera 7.5x. It is not necessary to sacrifice the depth of bits and does not occur division into sensor windows. Besides, there's no cutting factor or you lose vision angle. The camera also performs the function of slow and fast motion (S and Q) from 1 to 180 fps in increments of 1 fps. This allows you to alter the narrative by increasing or decreasing speed of action to your taste.

Built-in ND filters
You don't need a matte box to benefit from a lower depth field even in outdoor recordings with daylight. The filter incorporated neutral density (ND) includes clear positions, 1/4 (2 stops), 1/16 (4 stops) and 1/64 (6 stops).

RAW Recording, Apple ProRes 422 and multicamera thanks to Sony expansion unit
For PXW-FS7 to remain compact, light and easily manageable, Sony engineers reserved some functions specific for an external module, the XDCA-FS7 expansion unit sold separately. This unit adds powerful functions:

External RAW Recording: In order to maintain the maximum level color, contrast and resolution, the XDCA-FS7 allows RAW recording when connected to external recorders. The XDCA-FS7 supports the live colors that offers the 12-bit linear RAW format both to resolution 4K as 2K. Use a single BNC cable to connect XDCA-FS7 to Sony's HXR-IFR5 interface unit and AXS-R5 engraver. The interface also allows the use of compatible external recorders of other manufacturers such as ATOMOS Shogun and the Convergent Design® Odyssey 7Q, equipped with the Sony FS RAW option. Even when external recordings are made in RAW, you can follow recording material Full HD synchronized with time code form internal, a practical proxy for offline editing.

Apple ProRes 422 Recording: XDCA-FS7 supports recording Apple ProRes 422 and Apple ProRes 422 HQ at 1920 x 1080 on a card XQDTM on the camera.
Multicamera operation: The XDCA-FS7 also provides genlock and input/output of time code for multicamera recordings.

Memory Cards
Long-term programmes need means that are reliable to the and affordable. Adopted by the Compact Flash Association, the XQDTM memory cards meet both requirements. La. reliability is given by internal recovery in the camera. The cost per minute is very low compared to CFastTM cards. And, the solid communication between the camera and the controller card offers fast read/write speeds up to 600 Mbps.

Support for recording and 4 channel audio input
FS7 supports 4-channel audio input. In situations like interview, this allows simultaneous use of an external microphone for record environmental sounds, the built-in microphone for the operator can record voice notes and two wireless microphones of the UWP series for the voice of the interviewer and interviewed. In addition, using an optional XLR adapter XLR-K2M or XLR-K1M, which provides 2 additional XLR entries, their implementation possibilities are further expanded.
