SONY PXW-Z90 (PXWZ90) Features:
Revolutionary image performance thanks to type 1.0 CMOS Exmor RS sensor
It offers previously impossible image performance for a compact camcorder. It has a large CMOS sensor type 1.0 of 14,2 effective Megapixels that provides amazing background blur effects (bokeh) and superior sensitivity to capture high-quality images with a low noise level, even in dark or bright light conditions. This sensor integrates up to 273 AF phase detection points that cover densely approx. 84% of the image area, for precise tracking of subjects throughout the shooting frame. The sensor also gives you a low noise level and a smaller blur because it captures more light, offering clear and constant images even in dark scenes with a minimum illumination of 1.7 lux (low lux mode)
Capture the action with the Fast Hybrid Autofocus improved
Fast Hybrid Autofocus (AF)- is composed of a series of features: the AF detection phase of up to 273 points covering approximately 84% of the recording area, face detection and autofocus closure technology to estimate the subject's movement. They all work together to capture the fast moving subjects with incredible sharpness.
Instant HDR Workflow
Graba, edit and display HDR content in HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) without additional color correction.
As the need for HDR content increases, Internet video platforms and professionals producing corporate or event content are paying more attention to the added value of HDR. To meet this demand, the camcorder XDCAM PXW-Z90 offers Hybrid Log-Gamma recording (HLG), in addition to S-Log3, for easy file-based workflows, while achieving HDR image quality. This simple workflow allows the shooting, editing and display of HDR content in HLG, without dedicating much time to post-production work and additional color correction.
Stunning slow motion in Full HD
The shots with a high rate of frames can convert the daily actions into a slow motion ballet and the Sony PXW-Z90 offers up to *120 frames per second (fps) in Full HD, providing a maximum of 5 times the expression of slow motion. There is no sacrifice in the depth of bits and there are no "windows" of the sensor. So there is no harvest factor, there is no loss in the viewing angle. The highest frame speeds of 240, 480 and 960 fps are also possible in specific resolutions. * 120fps (NTSC) / 100fps (PAL)
Professional quality 4K (QFHD) and HD
La PXW-Z90 allows you to record a wide range of 4K (QFHD) and HD formats for maximum flexibility of this impressive hand camcorder. The Z90 supports XAVC QFHD 100Mbps recordings at 30p / 25p / 24p, XAVC HD GOP long 422 50Mbps, MPEGHD422 50Mbps*, MPEGHD420 35Mbps and AVCHD. * MPEG HD recording requires an optional license (CBKZ-SLMP).
High network mobility
La PXW-Z90 comes with 5GHz* and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi standard - simply log in to your preferred network to enable a series of advanced wireless production functions:
* 5GHz support depending on the regulation of each country.
Angular zoom lens with great control
The PXW-Z90 is supplied with a 29 mm fixed-angle ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens, ideal for capturing panoramic landscapes. The image at the enlargement level 12x optical Zoom can be extended to 18x sharp image Zoom (QFHD), using Super Resolution technology or 24x in HD. In addition, with the digital extender you can double this range again, up to a 48x zoom. The lens ring of the camcorder allows a smooth and natural setting of the focus or zoom, depending on the selected mode; while the manual dial and buttons on the body side allow a quick and easy fit of IRIS (opening), ISO/GAIN and shutter speed.

Excellent quality monitoring with improved OLED viewer
You have two excellent monitoring options with the Z90: one with the optimized OLED viewer of 0.39 and 2359K points and the other with the 3.5" 1550K points LCD display. The high-resolution OLED viewer offers excellent brightness, contrast and response quality, which provides greater accuracy of manual approach operations and eliminates any phenomenon that breaks the colors. The LCD display offers more flexible composition options.
Double entry XLR
The Z90 it has two XLR connectors - so even if the handle is removed with its standard XLR easy access connector then a second connector in the body is still available, which is ideal for applications such as shooting in a closed space, such as an inner car, or when mounted on a cardan.
Remote operation
La PXW-Z90 has a remote interface (2.5 mm stereo mini-mini jack) with wiring interface. Using a cable remote control such as the RM-1BP or the RM-30BP, the focus, zoom, rec start / stop and rec review can be remotely controlled. The camcorder can be connected to the optional RM-30BP together with MCX-500 multicamera live producer to form a simple live solution.
-Two slots for greater recording flexibility
To extend the recording time and the flexibility of the workflow, the PXW-Z90 is equipped with two slots for memory cards and is compatible with SDXC and SDHC cards, as well as Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark 2) / PRO-HG Duo *.
* Memory card Slot 1 only
The relay mode allows the recording to automatically switch from the first to the second memory card when the first one is filled, while the simultaneous mode makes possible the simultaneous recording on the two memory cards (for example, to create an immediate backup). The two start/detention buttons of the PXW-Z90, one on the hilt and the other on the camcorder's body, allows you to start and stop the recording independently on different memory cards while recording in the "SIMUL" mode (Simultaneous).
- Multiple Interface Zapata (MI)
The PXW-Z90 serves Sony's flexible multiple interface (MI) shoe, which provides power, signal and on and off connections, combining compatible Sony accessories. For example, you can connect and control Sony UWP-D wireless microphone systems (sold separately).
- Wide range of connections
The PXW-Z90 offers numerous connections to adapt to the broadcast workflow, including 3G HD-SDI, HDMI®, Jack Multi / Micro USB and composite output. The Rec Trigger signal can be sent via SDI and HDMI to connect an external recording device. HDMI / SDI / composite output is possible during QFHD * recording.
* HDMI supports QFHD resolution, 3G-SDI supports even HD resolution. The compound is SD-only.
