Extraordinary image quality at any focal distance
The precision aspheric lens and AA (advanced aspheric) elements, the three ED crystal elements and the Super ED crystal are combined in an advanced optical design to provide excellent resolution and contrast across the entire image and in the entire lens zoom range of 70-200 mm. The image quality is excellent and uniform in all focal distances.

Comfortable creative control
In addition to the AF/MF and OSS switches on/off, it has three-position switches to select the focus distance limiter and image stabilization mode. Another switch activates or deactivates the constant DMF, so that the manual approach can be activated with just turning the focus ring when recording in AF-C mode.
Compact, lightweight and mobile design
This innovative 794 gram lens has a diameter of 82.2 mm and a length of 149 mm at the wide angle end of the zoom range. It opted for an extended target design to maximize portability, and has a zoom locking switch to avoid unwanted extensions during transport.
Compatibility with non-commitment lenses
When used with 2.0x and 1.4x telephoto lenses from Sony, the maximum focal distance is 400 mm and 280 mm respectively. In addition, the 2.0x telephoto lens allows you to record macro 1:1 in real size in all focal distances to explore new creative horizons. With the 1,4x remote, you can record macro 0.7x at most in all focal distances.
Fluor coating of the front element
